我选的是A，做的时候就是觉得再加个life更好，但就算没有我也觉得比BC好，他忙着追逐梦想只是使他没有闲暇回忆过去，不回忆并不代表他印象中那个老人已经死了（况且，他都不去想了，怎么还会想到老人已死？）。所以我觉得前面一句更直接，学业、事业和生活本身的忙碌阻碍了他回乡，本就年老，久不见人自然认为他已死。再者，从段落来分析，我觉得第一句和第二句是讲他和老人的之间的事，第三句由in fact略带转折地引出的是他的现在，关于他自己的家庭的事。

Right now, Jack is "working on his future". Can't be A because if he did not remember Mr. Belser, he would not care if Mr. Belser was alive or dead. Can't be B, because Jack is so busy he spends "no time" with his family. Can't be D, because he is working in pursuit of his dreams since the past.

So answer must be C.

Jack由始至现在都生活在忙碌之中,努力工作为将來,沒有时间想過去,甚至沒有时间去倍伴家人.这樣他又怎会有时间去想Mr. Belser的死活呢?
