STUDY FOR VICISSITUTE OF POPULATION, RESOURCE AND ENVIRONMENT OF TAIWAN IN QING DYNASTY
Abstract
This disertation studies Taiwan's population change, resource exploitation in Qing Dynasty, and the resulting changes in the ecological environment in the Dynasty. In order to clearly illustrate the dynamic changes between the logical relationship, the disertation has produced a flow chart. At the same time the introduction of the Western History of the Annales school's “long periods” and “overall” philosophy, in order to grasp the overall trend of this change and get its curve.
This disertation, first of all, pays great attenton to the construction of the overall conditions of Taiwan's population, resources and environments, before the development of the Qing Dynasty, and outlined changes in the population and resources related to the development of natural and geographical conditions and the ecological landscape, highlighting the key role of quantity and quality of the population to the promoting of the development of the society in the Qing Dynasty. From a macro, the disertation has inspected the Qing Dynasty’s development in the process of Taiwan's population and resources, and focuses on the development of the system and the inherent relationship between population change, the quality of the laborers choosen for the development of the impact and consequences. In addition, using the measurement of relative resources capacity analysis of the entire population of Taiwan in the Qing Dynasty change, and development of resources to assess the situation, pointing out the laws that the enfluences imposed on the the society in Taiwan or between the internal changes in Qing Dynasty.
Then the disertation has probed into the specific development conditions of land, water, forest resources, that concluded the choice of method development and the intensity of development is appropriate or not are the important factors of the environmental changes. Then it discussed the external resource development from the two levels of the government and the civil society, pointed out that the input of funds and regulatory enforcement is an important reason in the development for change as a direct impact on the environment in Taiwan.
Based on the above analysis, this disertation has covered a long period in the Qing Dynasty for the resaerch of changing environment in Taiwan. In the microstructure analysis, the disertation has pointed out that the rapid population expansion and the rapid development of natural resources has lead to a series of changes in Taiwan's ecological environment from specific changes such as the soil, forests & vegetation, floods, and the scope of malaria air and deer in the areas.
