The wrong kind of small talk
Esther Greenbaum was a saleswoman for a firm of fax machines and business supplies。 But she was also the most outspoken human being in the world ----well,Westchester County,at least.Her motto was “Every time I open my mouth,Iput my foot in it.”
Esther Greenbaum’s major shortcoming was that she had a complete absence of small talk. No,that’s not quite true.She had small talk,but it was the wrong kind.In fact, she had never learnt the basic rules of social communication,and as a consequence, she made systematic mistakes every time she opened her mouth.It was no coincidence either that she wasn’t a very good saleswoman.

A young man was trying to be modest about his new job many miles away.
“ I guess the company chose me so they’d get some peace in the office,” he smiled.
“No,I guess they chose you to discourage you from spending your whole career with us,” Esther replied sweetly.

错误的聊天方式
以色尔 格林伯姆是一个女售货员，服务于一家做传真机和办公用品的公司。她也是世界上---哦，至少在西切斯特郡是最坦率的人。她的座右铭是：我每次张嘴都会犯错误。
以色尔 格林伯姆最大的缺点是她完全不会聊天。不，不是很准确。应该是她会聊天，但是总是方法不对。事实上，她从未学习过社交的基本规则，结果，每次她张嘴说话都会犯一系列的错误。这也就难怪她不会成为最好的售货员。

“我猜这个公司之所以选择我是因为我在的话没人理我公司会很安静。”
“不，我猜他们选择你是防止你把工作时间都放在我们这儿”以色尔甜甜地回复到。
