解答:
首先纠正一个错误."逻辑主语"是针对非谓语动词说的,就是说非谓语动词动作的发出者才叫做逻辑主语，以区别于句子主语。
这句话的主语是the thief.
There being nowhere to hide 是There be的非谓语形式，是独立主个格结构，在句中作原因状语。
再如：There being no time left, we have to hurry.(相当于Because there is no time left,……）
又如: There having been no warter for two days, the travelers were all thirsty.（相当于Because there had been no warter for two days,……）
