Another thing that impressed me was how easily and how differently the women (and men) reached their high notes. The sound wasn’t forced or raspy or breathy. The transition from low to high notes was very natural, and I doubt they were concentrating on controlling their diaphragm and breath like most “professional” singers do. In comparison, I feel that the Mongolian singers really demonstrate what singing really is; a form of expression, communication and understanding through sound. Their tone is untainted by the mechanics of “professionals” but emanate from their soul.
