next the tree 为什么就不加to呢？
解答:
作"邻近"解释时,next大多加to,如
the store next to the corner,
the shirt next to the skin,
the person next to him in rank
作"次于"(adv.)解释,Next to可看作为复合前置词,如
Next to Tom,Jack is the tallest
Tienjing is the largest city next to Shanghai
一般做为与last相对的意义时就不加to,next 用于场合,人物时要加the,如 the next house,the next three chapters,the next
page before等.
