当然是she asked me what was the matter this morning 对！！！

就因为 what was the matter 是一个主语疑问句，所以放到间接引语中时，它的语序不变！！ 还有只要是像它这样对主语本身提问的疑问句变间接引语时，词序都不变！
一个主语疑问句的例子：John paid the waiter. John 向侍者付款了。
如对主语John提问：who paid the waiter? 谁向侍者付了款？这就是主语疑问句

这时候如果你把它变成间接疑问句就是：
he asked me who paid the waiter? （词序没变化）

现在还用这句话做例子：John paid the waiter. John 向侍者付款了。
变一般疑问句 ：did John pay the waiter? John 向侍者付款了？
变带有疑问词的疑问句对宾语提问：who did John pay? John 向谁付款了？
这时候如果你把它变成间接疑问句就是：he asked me who John paid?
这样的句子词序才有变化。
