作主语时谓语动词用单数还是复数？为什么？

在我认为，英国指的是整个United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 或者简称UK(united kingdom) 或者Britain。
england只得的是英格兰。
英国人指的是the british people,也可以说是Britons，在定义上是 the native inhabitants of Great Britain and their descendants or citizens of the United Kingdom, of the Isle of Man, one of the Channel Islands, or of one of the British overseas territories.
British 包括了 English( 英格兰人）, Scots（苏格兰人）, Welsh（威尔士人）。
这样看来，具体用哪个要看你指的是哪个。
而且都要用复数。
