Commercial insurance has started rather late in China. Its market is still in the initial dynamic development phase and most of the insurance enterprises are still undergoing a selling process or a transition from the sales to marketing cycle. The marketing concepts that have lagged behind those in Western countries, non-standard marketing approaches and unsatisfactory services have all, to a certain exent, become major bottlenecks in the development of China’s commercial insurance industry. The mechanism for marketing insurance products, however, has become more and more important as a key step in the efforts of insurance enterprises to winning customers and market share. The issues of how to set up mechanisms for marketing insurance products corresponding to the patterns in our domestic situation and conduct innovation in these mechanisms have become important issues for promoting the potential demand for commercial insurance products in China and promoting the healthy development of China’s commercial insurance industry.
