D:I love my English class,but...
H:But what?Having problems again?
D:Yes.This time it's pronunciation.The problem is there aren't any rules.It just seem crazy.Though rhymes with enough but cough rhymes with off.And then of course,through rhymes with new.
H:Those are good examples.You know,English comes from a variety of older languages and each one was pronounced differently.My favorites are meat which rhymes with eat and great which rhymes with ate.
D:And why does dear rhyme with ear and bear rhymes with there?How do the children in those countries ever learn to read?
H:That's a good question.I know that they have to have special classes just for spelling.Oh,well,I suppose we'll get used to it sooner or later.


About dream
K:P,what do you dream of doing with your life?
P:Well.ever since I could remember I always enjoyed cooking and preparing meals with my mother.Food is very important amongst the Italians,so we make sure everything is made just right.
K:Wow,the only thing I remember as a kid is playing Games.I guess that's why I'm still clueless on what I want to do.
P:Why don't you enroll in cooking school with me,and we'll both take over the New York restaurants as chefs one day.
K:That's very thoughtful of you,but the only thing I know about cooking is boiling some instant ramen noodles.
P:Perfect!I'm in the mood for some instant noodles.K,why don't you get that ready while I set up the video games.
