Performance Technology is the research area in using analysis, design, development, implementation and appraisal system to improve efficiency of an individual or an organisation. Instructional Design is the "process" or "procedure" whereby systematic methods are utilised to tranform principles of study theory and teaching theory into a system of creative teaching and learning by substantive planning over teaching objectives, teaching contents, teaching method, teaching strategy and teaching appraisal. The ultimate goal of creative teaching and learning system is the promotion of a student's learning capacity and interest. In view of the characteristics and the relationship between Performance Technology and Instructional Design, we are of the opinion that the application of Performance Technology in Instructional Design will not only bring about improvement and scienticfic basis to teaching design, it is also in compliance with the latest developments in Instructional Design and Performance Technology.
