I decided to veg out with a good book. By the time I looked up it was almost seven o'clock. I still hadn't heard from Matt. Where the heck is that boy? I tried the store again and got the same girl. “He said he'd call as soon as he gets a chance.” He's probably covering for someone out sick, I thought. It was only one evening. It wasn't like this was how it would be every night! I ordered takeout and fell asleep in front of the television. Matt called around eleven o'clock. He'd just left the store. “We're starting our busy season,” he explained. “With the holidays coming up, we get tons of orders.”
