问题: 初三英语

请教大家两个问题:
1)take part in 与 join 的区别?
2)except 与 besides 的区别?

解答:

(一)take part in 与join 都有"参加,加入"的意思,但join 的主要意义是"联合",强调原来的分离性,延伸意义为"加入",着重从旁观者或外人的地位成为党派团体,游戏,谈话...中的一个成员,而take part
in 则强调是以主人翁的态度参加进去工作,起应有的作用.例如:
1.你参加了昨天的会议了吗?(不能用join,而要用take part in )
Did you take part in the meeting yesterday?
2.他二十岁时加入了共产党.(这里用join)
He joined the Communist Party when he was twenty.
(二).
except通常作前置词,意义为"除了",它所表示的排除性比but要强.它的后面可接that从句,不定式或动名词.例如:
1.We all went except John.
2.I know nothing except that Xiao Lin was there.
3.Nothing remains for us to do,except to sort up the
letter.
4.Mary did nothing except clean the dishes.
besides既可做副词,又可做前置词,意义为:"而且(moreover)",
"除...之外( in addition to)",所以在意义上不是排他性的,而是追加性的.例如:
1.I don't care for it; besides it's too expensive.
2.This design has many other advantages, besides lower
cost.
3.There were many others, besides me.
Besides还可接动名词,在动词do后面,besides可接原形动词.例:
What has he done besides reading (read) newspaper?
