I agree with this opinion. Many sports events are popular with the whole world. Athletes from different nations get together to have a fair competition,although some nations have some conflicts and wars in politics and other fields.

In my opinion,the sports events play key roles in easing the international tensions.As we all know that during the Olympic Games,all the countries agree to stop all the conflicts and just enjoy the competition in sports.The Iraq team participated in the Beijing Olympic Games.Although these young athletes confronted with a lot of troubles such as funds ,wars and even death.,they never gave up their dreams and showed their best to all the spectators in the competitions.Through the excellent performance of these young people,we know more about the spirit of that nation and give our respect to Iraqi.I believe at that moment people forget all the unpleasures and just compete in a peaceful environment .This sport event should be preserved forever.

The patriotic emotions could be released in the competition games.One thing impressed me most in the Beijing Olympic Games is the spectators .All the spectators cheered loudly for their nation’s athletes and they were also willing to give their congratulations to athelets in other countries.During the period of Beijing Olympic Games,I saw many Chinese flags flying on the playground ,and all the Chinese showed their love to our country.May be some people think that cheers can not represent nothing but show the enthusiasm,but I think that cheers are the symbols of the spirit of unity,and give people more confidence to pursue the happy life.

In conclusion,fair competition is important in the sports events. I believe this fair competition will be expanded to large fields as people can get more through the sports events.It is necessary for people to hold more popular sports games.
