People who do not use drugs cannot escape the problem. Their taxes help pay the cost of law enforcement and trials. In the Untied States today, one of every four cases in federal courts involves illegal drugs. Non-users also are often the victims of drug-related crimes. They may be robbed by a drug user who needs money to pay for his or her drugs. Companies may lose money if a person cannot work because of a drug problem.
