Dear Sam:

It's so great to hear from you. I'm doing great--the Chinese New Year holidays were a nice break from studying and worring about what's coming up next. Since the winter break is not yet over, I'm trying to take my mind off my studies by working on my other interests, which are piano and swimming. I'm working on Beethoven's Sonatina in G, which has been my favorite since childhood. I'm swimming 2 hours a day and last weekend I participated in a swim meet between an international school in Beijing and a few local schools. I'm happy that my 100 free finally broke 55" and won the "gold" medal in the process.

As for my plans for next year I definitely would like to go to the US for college. I plan to take the SAT in March. In the practice run organized by our high school I lost a few points in my English section of the test but aced the math portion. As you know I'm really interested in math and physics but to be quite honest these are just tools for the future. As a man one got to be successful and success is defined by money. At least it's the case in man's world. I would love to attend Princeton or Stanford and major in math or physical, the theoretical variety of course. After college it's my dream to get a job on Wall Street, well, if it will still be there in four year's time given the way things go nowadays.
