解答:
1. D. merely 这里的选择都不是形容词而是为后面的动词translate 选副词。所有选择都对的从语法上说，但D最贴切：好的翻译不只是限于只去翻译说出来的字而要做得更多。（spoken word不是spoke word）
2.A。 因为回答是省略了的，全句是：the reason i come back so early today is TO COMPLETE the work that i left unfinished yesterday.
