Is it wise to make friends online?
Nowadays Internet has been readily available in most cities. Through internet we can chat with our old friends and make new friends. Although the way of making friends is considered by some people, in my opinion, its advantages still outweigh its disadvantages.
To start with, internet provides you more chances to communicate with those, who have the same interests as you have. As long as I myself am concerned, I took to playing chess when I began to work. But I cannot always find good partners around me. Later I was told that I could find some in the internet. So did it. By far I have found many good players, some of which consequently have become my friends.
Secondly, communication online, compared with communication in reality, seems more open-minded to most of us. Thus, making use of the internet, we can find more spiritually connected friends. Sometimes we do feel difficult to speak out our feelings in heart to those around us. However, we need not face those difficulties, when chatting with friends online. Undoubtedly, it is more wise for us to share our feelings with people rather than hind them on the mind.
In a conclusion, I understand those, who doubt about the possibility of making true friends through internet. Some of their worries are reasonable. But as every coin has two sides. I believe that in the future more and more people would accept the way of making friends online.
