used to为什么是过去时?

1.当今大多数的计算机都是程序储存计算机。
stored 存储了的，过去分词作形容词，修饰program，因为program是这个动作的承受者，所以用过去分词。
2.到本世纪末，计算机就能普及到每个人的生活当中，甚至包括住在偏远地区山村的人们。
而用lives不用life,我的看法是：每个人的生活都分很多方面（如家庭生活、社会生活等），而计算机会普及到每个人的各个生活层面上，所以用lives.
3.智能化/计算机化的机器人会承担以前需要人类做的事情。
因为说的是过去情形，现在并不如此，只是做个比较。况且used to+do, 就是表示过去常常做...(现在不做了）。 大家认为呢？
