大家可能都知道，天津被誉为“中国近代工业文明的摇篮”。我国最早的自己修造的最长的铁路——津唐铁路，最早的开启式铁桥——金华桥，第一辆“飞鸽”牌自行车，第一台北京牌电视机都是诞生于天津。天津像这样的“最早”和“第一”真的太多了，三天三夜也说不完。虽然这样，天津的经济发展和社会进步是离不开教育事业的支持和保障的。天津大学和南开大学在全国的名牌大学中都名列前茅，我们敬爱的周总理就是南开大学文科的第一期学生。
这些年，天津不但重视教育而且更重视交通事业的建设，我们的天津港是全国最大的人工港，滨海国际机场作为首都的备用机场是国家一类航空口岸，扩建后的京津塘高速公路是中国第一条跨省市的高速公路。2004年，津滨轻轨投入运行，这是全国最长的轻轨。

Everyone may well know that TianJin is highly regarded as ‘the cradle of China’s modern industry civilization’. TianJin gives birth to many things, for example, the longest and the earliest railway line constructed by China -JinTang Railway, the earliest movable iron bridge-JinHua bridge, the very first ‘FeiGe’brand of bicycle-meaning ‘flying pigeon’, the first ‘BeiJin’brand of TV were all emerged from TianJin.
As there are so many sorts of things, like ‘the earliest’ and ‘the first’ of TianJin, I can hardly complete my speech with just a few words.
Moreover, the economic growth and societal progress of TianJin are inseparable from the support and protection of the education system. TianJin University and NanKai University are top -ranked universities among all renowned universities in China. Our benevolent Premier Zhou was the first semester student studying Arts in NanKai University.
For recent years, TianJin attaches the great importance not merely to the education, but the construction of transport system. TianJin port is the biggest man-made harbor in China. BinHai International airport, as one spare airport of capital Beijing, is China’s category 1 aviation port. Extended Jin-Jin-Tang freeway is the first expressway in China that crosses various provinces. In Year 2004, JinBin Light Rail came into full operation; it has the longest light railway line.
