I can’t tell my sweet little girl that my eyes are red and tired because I worry that we don’t have enough money. That I have had to choose which bill goes unpaid this month so that we can eat and have a roof over our heads. That I cannot afford to buy her a new lunchbox for preschool, even though yogurt spilled in her old one and I can’t get the rancid smell out of the cheap vinyl. That I’m upset because I can’t provide her with all the little things her heart desires.
