COMPETITORS 36 36
EVENT: Shooting 10m air pistol, 20 shots each at 20 different targets. 40
seconds for each target (highest score = 200)
EVENT: Fencing Epee bouts – lasting 1 minute (total bouts for each athlete
= 35, total bouts 630)
EVENT: Swimming 200m freestyle 4 heats
EVENT: Riding After swimming, athletes contest a 12 jump course with a
time limit
EVENT: Running 3000m run with a handicap start – the athlete leading the
competition starts first – the rest have a delayed start
according to the difference in points.
Therefore, an athlete’s place in the running event is the
athlete’s final placing in the competition.
PENALTIES Penalties, which are deducted from the MP Points
awarded for each event, can be awarded for a number of
infringements, including malfunctioning equipment,
incorrect clothing, a Swimming false start and errors
during Riding warm-up.
MEDALS 3 medals possible – Gold, Silver, Bronze
STANDINGS Overall standings are calculated on points awarded for the
result achieved in each event, after penalties are
deducted.
