Applicants must hold the Bachelor of Music degree in the area of specialization from the University of Toronto with an average standing of mid-B or better over the final two years, or an equivalent program and standing from another university. Applicants whose undergraduate degree does not meet this standard may be required to take appropriate prerequisite courses. Applicants in music education will normally be required to have had two years of teaching experience, although this requirement may be waived at the discretion of the Department. An in-person interview with the music education faculty will be scheduled once the required essay is received (see Application Checklist). This may be substituted by a videotaped interview at the discretion of the faculty. Appropriate letters of reference commenting on professional performance and promise are also required
