我在国外读书，过不了几天要做一个以“英雄”为topic的演讲。大约30分钟。

演讲要自己定一个Thesis Statement，然后有几个（一般是三个）Supporting Arguments支持。英雄这个题目太大了，我也不知道该具体从哪个方面下手。只能集思广益，还望诸位帮忙，多多提些建议。

我自己想就联系起这些Term，大家可以作为参考：
ARCHETYPE, CLASSIFICATION, (COMMON) CHARACTERISTIC, EVERYDAY HERO等等

Whe I saw the outline of your public speech, I liked the "everyday hero" part, the rest are pretty generic. My point is you should make it unqiue and personal because in most cases, if you talk about a well-known but overrated hero even it is not someone your professor and classmates are familiar but far away from their lives and also yours, it is not gonna leave a whole lot of impressions. Remember your target audience, mostly likely they don't care about famous, legendary or revolutionary heros, they want to hear about real heros of your life.

It is better to talk about how you would define a hero, what makes someone a hero and who is a hero to you personally. It can be someone who had impact on your life, who helped you grow up to be the man you are right now, someone you want to emulate. You shoudl also make it a little dramatic as long as it doesn't sound too far-fetched.

I am sure you will do well if you tell them the stories of your own life and the audience will be impressed.
