If we must die,let it not like hogs
Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot,
While round us bark the mad and hungry dogs
Making their mock at our accursed lot;
If we must die,O let us nobly die,
So that our precious blood may not be shed
In vain;then even the monsters we defy
Shall be constrained to honour us though dead.
O kinsmen !we must meet the common foe!
Though far outnumbered let us show us brave,
And for their thousand blows deal one death blow!
What though before us lies the open grave?
Like men we'll face the murderous, cowardly pack,
Pressed to the wall,dying,but fighting back!

疯狂而又饥饿的狼狗在我们周围乱吠，
Making their mock at our accursed lot;
它们在嘲笑我们受诅咒的命运；

If we must die,O let us nobly die,
如果我们将要死亡，就让我们高贵的死去吧，
So that our precious blood may not be shed
那样我们珍贵的血液也许不会白白的流淌；
In vain;then even the monsters we defy Shall be constrained to honour us though dead.
那样就连我们极力反抗的怪物也将向我们的致敬，
就算我们经已死亡！
