La bentonite est une argile. Mélangée au terreau elle augmente sa rétention d'eau.

La présence de bentonite dans votre mélange capte les éléments nutritifs pour les plantes qui seront libérés ensuite progressivement. Sa présence dans le sol limite le lessivage des engrais.
Les argiles jouent aussi un r?le tampon au niveau du pH du sol en absorbant les ions hydrogènes (H+), maintenant le pH a un niveau quasi constant. La particularité de la betonite par rapport aux autres argiles est d'avoir un énorme pouvoir d'absorption en eau mais aussi en cations.

Attention toutes les bentonites ne sont pas valables pour l'horticulture, c'est pourquoi nous avons sélectionné un produit qui ne soit saturée ni en H+, Ca2+, Mg2+ ou Na+ qui réduirait à néant vos efforts. Pire, des excès nocifs de Calcium ou une chute brutale du pH endommageraient vos récoltes.

Utilisation : en mélange pour votre terreau, 2 à 5%
