＂Instead和Instead of"在句中到底翻不翻译呀.请看看下面两个句子:
a.I will go to Beijing instead of Tianjin
我不去天津了,而要去北京.
b.He is tired.Let me go instead.
他累了,让我替他去吧.(这个句子有译出,"替")
我在书上看到的还是同一本书,前面说不译,后面又在译.到底译不译呀?

要不要译出来无关紧要，主要看句子的汉语意义通顺搭理就可以了。这两个词的主要作用就是起否定作用。instead of是否定介词of后的内容；instead通常是否定其所在的句子。如：
We'll go to the cinema instead of watching TV at home.“我们要去看电影，而不是在家里看电视”。
同样的意思也可以说成：
We don't watch TV at home,we'll go to the cinema instead.或
We don't watch TV at home,instead we'll go to the cinema .
也可以翻译成“我们不在家里看电视，（相反）我们要去看电影。”
